Puzzle method and privacy

Every theme uses an editor-reviewed bank of at least 60 English entries. Labels may contain spaces or hyphens, while the grid uses four to thirteen ASCII letters. Version 2 boards are generated deterministically from the UTC date, theme, difficulty, and local variant.

The shared daily board changes at 00:00 UTC. Its public seed combines the date, theme, difficulty, and rules version, so the same inputs always rebuild the same puzzle. Unlimited boards use an increasing local variant instead of replacing the daily puzzle.

No account or cloud sync is required. Preferences, completions, best times, hint counts, streaks, and variant counters stay in this browser. Printing uses the puzzle already on the page and creates no downloadable or indexable copy.

How to play

Learn the objective before jumping into a new run.

  • Easy words follow one straight horizontal or vertical path. Medium answers turn 1–2 times, while Hard answers turn 2–4 times along connected neighboring letters.
  • Drag or tap through any of the eight neighboring cells without reusing a cell. Releasing does not discard the current path, so continue from its last letter when ready.
  • Use the real-time letter and validity feedback, Undo or Clear a partial path, or select with arrow keys plus Space or Enter. An exact word completes automatically.

  • On Medium and Hard, treat each turn as a new clue: keep one promising prefix, release, inspect its neighbors, and continue.
  • Found paths stay visible as landmarks; if a prefix becomes invalid, Undo one cell instead of clearing useful progress.
